Inter Miami midfielder Federico Redondo has shared what it’s really like training with Lionel Messi since joining the Florida franchise earlier this year.

The Argentina youth international made the surprise decision in the winter transfer window to join Inter Miami, despite reported interest from the likes of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Redondo instead opting for a move to MLS.

With Messi on Inter Miami’s books along with Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets, the star power the Herons now have is something no club in America has ever bolstered, a factor that is now helping the Florida side recruit the likes of Redondo.

And the midfielder has now given his thoughts on Messi after now training with the forward.

Redondo now respects Messi even more after Inter Miami move

Speaking to Saca del Medio, the 21-year-old prospect admitted that he now has an even greater respect for Messi since becoming the reigning Ballon d’Or holder’s teammate at Inter Miami this year.

Even at 37-years-old, Messi remains one of the best attackers on the planet and this season has proven to be one of the most deadly forwards in MLS, with the former PSG and Barcelona man already on double digits for goals and assists.

And for a young Argentine like Redondo, the chance to play alongside Messi and train with the soccer great is a dream come true, and one that the midfielder seems to be enjoying each and every day at Inter Miami.

Redondo said when asked about training with Messi: “I grew up watching him, and once I got here and started to do training sessions with him, I admire him even more. On the pitch he solves things like only he can do. Off the pitch, he has incredible humility.”

Redondo will learn more from Messi than any other player in world soccer

At 21-years-old, Redondo is very much at the start of his soccer journey, with the youngster starting to gain his stride at last in MLS after horrific injury luck since moving at the start of the year.

And training regularly alongside arguably the greatest of all time in Messi is something that will help Redondo out greatly in his development, with the Argentina captain one of the most influential players on the planet.

Indeed, Messi leaves an impression on those who train and play with him, and Redondo taking in the right lessons from the forward could serve the midfielder well later on in his career, where the youngster could become a superstar.
