A former Inter Miami player has expressed his delight in signing for his new team after departing the Herons for good.
The summer transfer window is upon us, with MLS teams now free to sign players as well as offload those who have been deemed surplus to requirements, with Inter Miami set to be busy in the coming weeks.
The Florida franchise are on the hunt for a new central defender, with superstar names like Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane being linked with Inter Miami, as well as the likes of Germany legend Marco Reus.
Yet one player who has already left Inter Miami is seemingly excited about his departure.

Emerson Rodriguez expresses delight in signing for Vasco de Gama
Speaking to Vasco de Gama’s official website, former Inter Miami winger Emerson Rodriguez shared his excitement on signing for the Brazilian side, with the attacker joining on loan with an obligation to buy.
The Colombian international had spent the first half of the year out on loan with Millonarios, yet Inter Miami have since managed to secure a deal with Vasco that will see Rodriguez permanently leave the Herons in 2025.
Rodriguez said on signing for Vasco: “I thank God for the opportunity and Vasco for opening the door for me, I am very happy. Playing here has always been a dream for me and my family. We are fans of Brazil, of the beautiful good game. I am happy and ready to help the team and contribute on the field.
“This is a beautiful club, a team with incredible fans and I believe we will achieve great things. It is a beautiful moment. I arrive with a great attitude, with the best energy and with a great desire to play, to show why I am here. I will give my best.”

Herons have done well to finally get Rodriguez off the payroll
There’s no denying that Rodriguez is a top talent who could have a successful career in soccer, yet at Inter Miami, it’s clear that the Florida franchise was a bad fit for the Colombian attacker.
Which is why Inter Miami can be applauded for finally managing to get Rodriguez off their payroll, with the winger spending the last 18 months out on loan and failing to get a permanent move anywhere.
Now, at Vasco, Rodriguez has the chance to get his career rolling again, and Inter Miami fans will be keen to see the winger flourish in Brazil after impressing in Colombia with Millionairos.
