New Inter Miami signing David Martinez has given his opinion on playing alongside the likes of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba after his Herons debut.
The Paraguay international was this week announced as a new addition to Tata Martino’s side as Inter Miami confirmed the loan signing of Maritnez for the remainder of the year, with the defender immediately named in the starting XI to face Club Puebla last night.
Keeping a clean sheet in what was to be a 2-0 win for Inter Miami, Martinez impressed in a position that the Florida franchise have struggled with this season, with Nicolas Freire out for the year, as Tomas Aviles continues to fight through injury.
And Martinez has now shared what it was like to make his Inter Miami debut and to play alongside the likes of Busquets and Alba.

Speaking to the press after Inter Miami’s 2-0 win against Puebla, Martinez voiced his amazement on playing with such legends of the game in Busquets and Alba, with Luis Suarez also on the pitch for the Herons.
With Lionel Messi likely to return next month from injury, Martinez has joined Inter Miami in what could be the start of a golden era for the club, with the Florida franchise the favorites for Leagues Cup, MLS Cup and the Supporters’ Shield.
And Martinez certainly made a good impression on his Inter Miami debut, with the defender seemingly starstruck by what he experienced on Saturday night for the Herons against Puebla at Chase Stadium.
Martinez said on his Inter Miami debut: “Truthfully, I am very happy. Taking three points today was very important. It is an honor for me to play with the likes of Sergio and Jordi, these type of players are so unique, and I felt very good playing alongside them today.”

Inter Miami have needed a central defender the second Freire was announced as out for the remainder of the year, and in Martinez, Tata Martino might finally have the final piece of the puzzle needed to complete a clean sweet this season.
Three trophies are up for grabs for Inter Miami in the coming months, starting with reclaiming Leagues Cup, which based off the opening game of the competition could be possible even if Messi was to miss the entire competition.
