It’s been a year since Lionel Messi first joined Inter Miami, and one player who has benefitted greatly from the Argentine’s arrival is youngster Benjamin Cremaschi.
The Florida native quickly formed a good partnership with Messi in the forward’s first few weeks with the Herons, with Cremaschi’s profile and reputation skyrocketing as a result with the teenager now considered one of the best talents in MLS.
Now a USA international, Cremaschi is on course to become one of the most exciting prospects in America and a player who could one day play in Europe if the 19-year-old continues to develop at his current pace.
And the youngsters has now shared what it was like meeting Messi for the first time.

Cremaschi shares awe in meeting Messi at Inter Miami
Speaking on the Player/Manager podcast, Cremaschi recounted meeting Messi for the first time, with the midfielder sharing that the feeling was something different to anything he had experienced with an Inter Miami teammate.
With Messi the undisputed greatest of all time and Cremaschi sharing Argentine heritage, it’s not real surprise that the Inter Miami youngster was starstruck by meeting the reigning Ballon d’Or holder for the first time.
And the feeling that day seems to have stuck with Cremaschi, with the USA international saying when asked about meeting Messi and how he felt at that moment: “Seeing him for the first time is something different.
“That’s when you really understand that you’re going to be playing with the guy that you’ve watched your entire life and that you’ve admired, and seeing how great of a guy he is and everything is something you don’t expect. It’s been great, it’s amazing to be surrounded by these players, not just him, but the rest of them.”

Messi has given Cremaschi the platform to flourish
Cremaschi has arguably been the biggest winner from Messi moving to Inter Miami, with the midfielder’s game reaching new levels few would have expected from the teenager this time last year.
And as a result, Cremaschi’s career is now set to become something quite incredible, with the teenager forming a connection with Messi that few have created with the Argentine over the years.
Indeed, Cremaschi is well-equipped to thrive in Europe in the years to come if such a move happens in the next 18 or so months, and Messi can be happy knowing he’s played a big role in helping the young American.
