Inter Miami have been without Lionel Messi since the start of June, with confusion and speculation running on when the attacker will return.
The 37-year-old attacker twisted his ankle in the Copa America final, an injury that has kept the Argentine out of action since July with Messi working every day in the gym to recover.
With Julian Gressel sharing that Messi is pushing hard to return from his injury, there’s still no set timeline on when the former FC Barcelona superstar will be back, with Inter Miami back in MLS action next weekend.
Yet the Herons are now seemingly confident on when Messi will be back from injury.

Inter Miami hope Messi will be back by the end of the month
According to AS, there is positive optimism from within Inter Miami that Messi will be back at the end of the month, though the plan will be to ensure that the forward can stay fit for the long term.
Inter Miami are already a shoo-in for the post-season play-offs with the Herons also likely to be good enough without Messi to win the Supporters’ Shield in the final nine games of the regular season.
Indeed, Inter Miami’s positive outlook towards Messi returning soon will be viewed as a massive boost heading into the MLS run-in, where the Argentine’s comeback will boost the morale of the squad.
And if Messi can stay fit and get up to pace heading into the play-offs, Inter Miami could be unstoppable in their quest to claim a domestic double in the Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup.

Messi featuring this month will be huge for the Herons
Messi’s confirmed return date is as big as a mystery as how fit the forward actually is, with little concrete information coming out from the Florida franchise and the play himself on when a return will be on.
Yet with Inter Miami insiders seemingly confident that Messi will feature for the Herons at some point this month, a return in the coming weeks will be nothing short of massive for the MLS Cup and Supporters’ Shield hopefuls.
Messi, when fit and available, is easily the best player in MLS, and the Argentine will be itching to return after so long away from the pitch for his club.
