'I think': Former USA international tells Neymar why he now ‘needs’ to join Inter Miami next year

Neymar has emerged as a target for Inter Miami, and rumors surrounding a potential move in 2025 are only heating up.

The Brazil international recently purchased a $26m property in Florida, with Neymar himself believed to be keen on joining Inter Miami and reuniting with the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Chase Stadium.

With Neymar enduring a tough time in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal due to injuries, a change of scenery in MLS could be perfect for the former FC Barcelona and PSG superstar, who could flourish in Florida with Inter Miami.

And former USA international Herculez Gomez has now shared why he thinks Neymar needs a move to Inter Miami as well.

Neymar could want Inter Miami move to restart his career

Speaking on Futbol Americas, the pundit noted that Neymar could be dreaming of a move to Inter Miami in an attempt to restart his career, with the Brazilian attacker simply not where he should be at this stage in his life.

Although being out injured for a year has been the main reason behind Neymar’s lack of progress in Saudi Arabia, a move to MLS could be what the forward needs to get his career back on track, with Inter Miami the perfect club.

Gomez said when asked if Neymar wants a move to Inter Miami next summer: “I think not only does he want it, I think he needs it. He needs to re-spark his career in a way only Messi and friends could do it.

“And hopefully that good club form he would have in MLS and Inter Miami, which if you don’t believe that, please look at Luis Suarez as exhibit A, what he’s done, Neymar can do as well. And if he reignites his club career, that’s going to translate to the national team where Brazil desperately need him.”

Herons need to pull off all the stops to sign Neymar next year

Even with Neymar now playing in Saudi Arabia and only just returning from an ACL injury, the 32-year-old winger remains one of the biggest names in soccer and indeed all of sport having become the face of the Brazil national team.

And heading into 2025, Inter Miami need to pull off all the stops to sign Neymar for next year, with the former Barcelona star a perfect next addition to a roster that already includes Messi, Suarez and Sergio Busquets.

If Neymar is motivated to make the move himself, a lot of logistical loopholes could be made to bring the forward to Inter Miami, where the Herons could be a real threat heading into the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
