De Bruyne’s recent injury struggles explored
Every footballer will undoubtedly struggle with an injury here or there in their career but clubs want to try and avoid any players with a poor injury history.
De Bruyne has been a regular in Manchester City’s side since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015, but in the last few seasons, he has been hit by numerous injuries.
Here’s a look at his injury record in recent years:
- August 2021 – Ankle injury
- August 2023 – Hamstring injury
- March 2024 – Groin strain
- September 2024 – Groin muscle injury
Since August 2023 De Bruyne has missed a total of 190 days of football through injury. This is a worrying sign for a player that is coming to the later stages of his career.
Despite this KDB was back in the starting line-up for Manchester City’s most recent victory over Nottingham Forest.
Javier Mascherano and the Inter Miami hierarchy will be hoping that he can continue to stay fit as they monitor a potential move.
