Lionel Messi is gearing up for this third season as an Inter Miami player, with 2025 set to be a big year for the Argentine.
Having won the Copa America with Argentina and the Supporters’ Shield with the Herons, this year is shaping up to be a huge one for Messi’s club career with Inter Miami, with Javier Mascherano’s side taking part in the FIFA Club World Cup and aiming for MLS Cup glory.
Having won MLS MVP last season, Messi will be keen to add to his trophy cabinet in 2025 with Inter Miami having won the franchise their first two pieces of silverware in the last 18 months in Leagues Cup and the Supporters’ Shield.
And teammate Oscar Ustari has now shared one thing about Messi that makes the Inter Miami star both incredible and unbearable.

Messi described as ‘unbearably competitive’ by Inter Miami teammate
Speaking to DSports Radio, the veteran goalkeeper shared how ‘unbearably competitive’ Messi is behind the scenes, with Ustari saying that the 37-year-old attacker is ‘incredible at everything’ despite his age and injury record in 2024.
Ustari said: “Messi is unbearably competitive, he is incredible at everything. There are team-mates who had never seen him and are surprised. Nothing is a coincidence at that level. You see that his passion is football, training, being well and showing every day who he is.”
Indeed, Messi’s off-the-field personality and attitude has made the former FC Barcelona superstar the legend that he now is in soccer, with Inter Miami blessed to have the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner in their ranks.
And heading into the new MLS season, Inter Miami will hope Messi can use his divine abilities to help the Herons to a historic year in all competitions, with the pressure now on for the Florida franchise to impress with the stakes as high as ever.

Messi will want to have his best year ever in MLS in 2025
Messi might have missed nearly half of 2024 with Inter Miami due to injuries and international commitments, yet that doesn’t mean that the Argentine international is set for a repeat year this time around.
With no major international tournament coming up and full focus on Inter Miami, Messi will be keen to have his best year even in MLS with Inter Miami, with the Club World Cup also an objective for the Greatest of all Time.
Having come so short in the play-offs, Messi will be aiming for greatness this time around with Inter Miami in MLS and beyond, and the forward will be determined to stay fit and healthy for his club.
