The January transfer window is firmly underway for Inter Maimi, with Javier Mascherano’s side already making a number of moves.
Inter Miami fans were surprised by the departure of Matias Rojas to River Plate as the Herons brought in experienced MLS attacker Fafa Picault, with the rebuild for the 2025 season going in an interesting direction this winter.
With Inter Miami linked with the likes of James Rodriguez, there’s a good chance that the Supporters’ Shield champions will make one big move in the transfer window given how important this year is shaping up to be for the Chase Stadium side.
Yet Boca Juniors could be about to disrupt Inter Miami’s plans for next season with a move for one of their star talents.

Boca Juniors interested in signing Inter Miami’s Federico Redondo
According to Boca Noticias, the Argentina giants are ‘dreaming’ of signing Inter Miami midfielder Federico Redondo, with the youngster only joining the MLS franchise last year from Argentinos Juniors.
Redondo was lauded by Kieran Gibbs as a ‘remarkable’ player after an impressive debut season in MLS with Inter Miami, with the 21-year-old initially struggling with injuries and form before ending the year with a flourish in the midfield.
Boca Juniors are not the only side interested in the Inter Miami talent, though, with River Plate also reportedly interested in signing Redondo, who could be heading for a return to Argentina just 12 months after moving to Florida.
However, with Mascherano now in charge at Inter Miami and the Herons set for a big year competing in the FIFA Club World Cup, Redondo might be keen to remain at Chase Stadium for at least one more season, especially with a move to Europe potentially on the cards next year.

How good was Redondo for Inter Miami in 2024?
Luis Suarez might have been the biggest signing Inter Miami made last year, but it terms of sheer excitement, Redondo might be top given how promising the midfielder is and how big the youngster’s reputation was coming from Argentina.
With Redondo one of the best signings Inter Miami made in 2024, the 21-year-old grew into Tata Martino’s system the more the youngster played, with the Argentine youth international carving a place for himself in the midfield.
Under Mascherano, Redondo’s career could go to a new level if the youngster can adapt to the new Inter Miami manager’s system, and the no. 55 will be eager to get going this year with the new season kicking off next month.
