Neymar has been on Inter Miami’s radar for quite some time, with 2025 shaping up to be the year that the Brazilian might make the move to Florida.
Al-Hilal are preparing to let Neymar leave at the end of his contract this summer with the attacker revealing that he wants to reunite with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, with the pair forming one of the best frontlines in all of soccer at FC Barcelona.
Despite news in recent weeks, Javier Mascherano has deemed Inter Miami signing Neymar this January as ‘impossible’, with MLS restrictions meaning the Herons simply can’t bring the forward to Chase Stadium even with the stars aligning.
Yet three factors are at play that could allow Neymar to join Inter Miami this year.

Inter Miami can reshuffle roster contracts to free-up Neymar move
As per journalist Jose Armando, Inter Miami can make three big roster reshuffles that could allow Neymar to join the Florida franchise this year, with one already happening in the form of Leonardo Campana leaving for the New England Revolution.
The Venezeula international held one of Inter Miami’s three Designated Player spots, the rule that allows MLS teams to go over the salary cap on player contracts to help attract the biggest and best names in soccer.
Despite having an open spot, though, Inter Miami still face some squad problems that need to be resolved if they’re to allow Neymar to join, namely sorting out their U-22 initiative contracts, of which the Herons have four where only three are allowed.
With Facundo Farias linked with a move to Racing, though, this exit could be what allows Inter Miami to sign Neymar, with the Herons having until February 21st to make the transfer official if they’re to bring the Brazilian to Florida this winter.

What else has been said about Neymar’s potential Inter Miami move?
Neymar joining Inter Miami would go down as one of the biggest transfers in MLS history, with the 32-year-old forward one of the most recognized athletes on the planet and a player who could add plenty of value to the league and Mascherano’s side.
And much has been said about the former PSG superstar moving to Florida, with Luis Suarez saying he would be ‘excited’ to reunite with Neymar even if an Inter Miami transfer this January looks very difficult to pull off.
With Inter Miami owner Jorge Mas also stating he wants to bring Neymar to Chase Stadium, this saga isn’t going away anytime soon, with the Herons likely to go through a few more weeks of rumors and links before a definitive decision is made by the player.
