Financial differences end Inter Miami’s Nahuel Ferraresi interest
Inter Miami have been in the market for some defensive additions since their MLS season ended back in November but have only recently started to welcome new faces.
The Falcon deal has all but been agreed and Inter Miami are close to bringing in San Lorenzo defender Gonzalo Lujan after agreeing to an $800,000 deal.
The exit of Nicolas Freire has left them a little short of numbers at the back but they have ended their interest in Sao Paulo defender Ferraresi, according to reports.
There were talks between the two clubs and there was strong interest from Inter Miami, but financial differences ended negotiations.
After missing out on Ferraresi, Mascherano will likely turn his attention to a new central defender as he looks to bolster his squad.

Inter Miami’s central defensive options
Heading into the new season, which sees Inter Miami host New York City FC in their opening game, the club are short of central defenders.
Currently, the club only has Tomas Aviles, David Martinez and Ryan Sailor as natural centre-backs.
Marcelo Weigandt has shown his versatility and could likely fill in but they could do with some reinforcements.
Veteran defender Nicolas Otamendi was linked with Inter Miami for some time, but it now appears that the deal is off.
Mascherano, a former defender himself will know exactly what type of player he wants to bring in to marshal his troops from the back, something that will be important if they are to challenge for the MLS Cup.
